Sbaiti & Company Files Comprehensive Opposition to Defendants’ Motion to Dismiss in the New Jersey Roundup Multicounty Litigation
Dallas — January 8, 2026 — Sbaiti & Company has filed a comprehensive opposition to Defendants’ motion to dismiss Plaintiffs’ Master Complaint in the New Jersey Roundup Multicounty Litigation (MCL).
Asim M. Badaruzzaman, co-chair of the Firm’s Mass Tort Practice Group and partner-in-charge of the New Jersey office, was recently appointed by the Honorable Gregg A. Padovano, J.S.C., as Co-Lead Counsel for Plaintiffs in the New Jersey Roundup MCL. Badaruzzaman, along with partner Christopher L. Ayers and senior associate Matthew B. Sicheri, filed the opposition to Defendants’ motion to dismiss, directly challenging Defendants’ attempts to evade accountability for alleged nationwide harm caused by their Roundup products. This marks a critical milestone in this landmark case affecting thousands of plaintiffs nationwide.
The Master Complaint alleges that Defendants operate as an integrated “Bayer Group,” with their U.S. Roundup business centrally controlled from New Jersey—a fact corroborated by Defendants’ own public filings and statements.
“Defendants are attempting to escape accountability in the very state where, based on their own public records, they now direct their entire U.S. Roundup operation,” said Badaruzzaman. “Our opposition demonstrates that jurisdiction is proper on multiple independent grounds and that our clients’ claims are meritorious. We look forward to vindicating the rights of the thousands affected by Roundup exposure.”
