Apple Wins Antitrust Lawsuit Over iPod Monopolization Claims

Apple convinced the Ninth Circuit that the district court summary judgment motion over indirect purchaser claims for damages stemming from the alleged monopolization of the iPod and music download market was correct.

This underscores the difficulty in consumer antitrust cases–even though the antitrust laws were intended to benefit consumers. The suits by intermediary businesses however is alive and well.
